This course examines the role of business analytics in supporting organizational decision-making and facilitating business process improvement through data-driven approaches. Students develop the knowledge and skills required to collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate business data using statistical methods and analytical tools. Emphasis is placed on descriptive analytics, hypothesis testing, experimental design, and visual analytics through the application of Excel, Power BI, and related technologies. Through experiential learning activities and real-world business cases, students learn to transform data into actionable insights that enhance organizational performance and strategic decision-making.

This course aims to provide a survey of quantitative techniques commonly used to provide insight into business and management decisions. Particularly important, is the understanding of the assumptions and limitations of quantitative techniques and how these techniques can be used to facilitate practical decision-making. Consequently, emphasis would be placed on formulation, model building, and interpretation of results rather than theory. 

The course is decision and action oriented, not technique and numbers driven hence the role of the computer and application software, and the use of case studies will be emphasized. Topics covered within the sessions include the following: Describing Data: Graphs and Tables, Summary Measures, Probability concepts and Applications, Decision Analysis, Time Series Analysis and Forecasting, Simulation Models and Game Theory applied to business

Business Technology Applications is designed to provide students with skills in computer technology and business applications in business. The emphasis is on understanding and using integrated software with basic business applications.

This course utilizes computers as a business tool through the use of database spreadsheets, word-processing, and presentation software, along with internet research.

The student will use computing tools to understand the requirements and learn the fundamental architecture and how to operate ae-commerce site. The final project will combine all the learning into a real case, and the students are expected to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and other tools as required/desired to produce the final document.

This course provides an overview and understanding of the current issues and challenges facing today’s businesses, both small and large.

The design of this course and its primary objective is to enable participants to improve their understanding of the basic mechanics of business operations; manufacturing, marketing and maintaining financial focus in a rapidly changing and competitive market.

You will engage in the assessment of individual organizational leadership skills and be able to more readily decide your choice of the career challenges and awards that management offers.

Upon completion of this course, you will recognize the fundamentals of current management practices, the changing roles of managers and the managed, future trends in worldwide management structures and activities in manufacturing and service organizations.
