The provision of health care services is one of the most regulated industries in the United States. This course addresses both the legal and ethical issues that health administrators and healthcare providers work with on a regular basis. These include confidentiality, standards of care, criminal acts and torts, the health record, medical malpractice, reproductive issues, and death and dying. The course will involve lectures and discussions, case studies, textbook and supplemental materials, and videos to address these important issues.
