This introductory course provides students with the scope and complexity of the hospitality industry by exploring the relationships of lodging, tourism, food and beverage, residence management, luxury real estate, culinary arts, and other sub industries. It introduces key hospitality management definitions and the opportunity available to achieve a successful hospitality career. It encompasses the study of organization, functions, operations and management of the hospitality industry, safety, security, and environmental practices.

Business Intelligence has evolved during the last decade from depicting a photograph of the organization, to predict and prescribe in real time for decision making and competitive advantage.  Many methodologies rely on the advancements of Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Machine Learning and Deep Learning.

During this course, the participant will comprehend and apply for business purposes, different algorithms used for advanced predictive analytics. Data manipulation and analysis involve the use of languages like R or Python, but with a strong scope on business applications and the generation of value for the business.

Additionally, students will use the Data contained in Big repositories (Extract), apply the data analysis to the whole set of data (Transform) and use the information in real time for decision making and execution (Load). 

This course follows a Problem Based Learning and Case Based Learning structure, with direct presentations from the instructor to clarify the concepts and applications, providing space for the student to learn, participate and innovate.

This course is geared towards teaching you how to apply systems thinking skills to social responsibility and environmental issues and develop a plan for the implementation of the triple bottom line in an organization. You can experience an entire cycle in action research in a complex organization.

You are also taught how to frame policy agendas for creating inter organizational collaboration among businesses, government and advocacy organizations.

This course deals with the methodology and follow-up to develop a research project applied to the business environment, as a requirement for obtaining a degree. The result of the applied research project is the proposal of an academic document, in addition to a proof of concept that can be subsequently applied in a company. Of all the courses you take at Atlantis University, this will be the most practical. Eighty percent of your grade will be based on your project's follow-up, the research process you have conducted, as well as the results of it.

The course sessions will follow the natural order of a research process, such as defining the problem to be solved, conducting a review of the state-of-the-art literature, defining a project proposal, defining the research process, clarifying the scope of the project, planning the project and its deliverables, and delivering the required results.

This course is about entrepreneurship and specifically about starting, growing, managing, leading, and ultimately launching a new company. Of all the courses you take at Atlantis University, this will probably be the most practical one. Sixty percent of your rating will be based on launches, product demos, and a business plan you develop with your team.

Course sessions will follow the natural order of starting a new business: choosing your idea and your team, validating that idea with clients, perfecting your initial speech, dealing with the legal issues of starting a business, building a great product, deciding between financing strategies, developing a market launch and operating plan and launching the business.

This course is designed to prepare business managers with both accountancy and business management skills essential in today’s complex business environment.

The course’s learning objectives reflect that: modern accounting with the advent of information technology is no longer simply the recording of historical facts but the assembly and management of accounting information and its distribution to both external and internal users; this information facilitates the decision processes necessary to compete in today’s increasingly complex business world and; an accounting information system capable of providing relevant, timely and reliable information must be administered by knowledgeable, competent management skilled in both accountancy and business management.
