This course is an overview of health care
personnel, hospitals and other institutions, the federal government, financing
and payment mechanisms, and managed care. Using case studies students will
learn the origins and milestones of the US healthcare system, to interpret the
Affordable Care Act and its impact on the US healthcare system, and evaluate
the current operations of the healthcare system and its impact on the general
population.
