This course is designed to provide th applied and practical knowledge required to design, configure, install, and troubleshoot hardware, peripherals and protocols used in local area networking. The course content is patterned after the material required to pass the vendor neutral Network + N10-007 examination. This certificate course focuses on the rudiments of networking and the knowledge and application of OSI model. The essentials and application of TCP/IP and the use of routers with TCP/IP will be highlighted. Remote connectivity, network installation, network Administration, maintenance, support, trouble shooting, and network security will be some of the models covered. The topics in this course have been designated to prepare students to take the Network + certification exam but will also cover other topics in more detail as time permits.

Students will undertake and complete a scholarly project related to their chosen program of study under the guidance and approval of the supervising faculty. This Project is a culmination and synthesis of prior graduate learning in the MIT program. Students will be expected to complete the scholarly project and present the findings via a manuscript and an oral presentation

This course is designed to give students hands-on, practical knowledge of the development of a cloud platform using Google cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure. The course is based on hands-on scenarios using a selected cloud platform. This will allow the student to work in a “lab” type of format spending time identifying the cloud solutions, products, industry applications and scenarios. The online forum is designed to cover the different cloud models, cloud strategies and options.
